Alpha Delta Pi holds a special place in history as the first secret society for college women, founded on May 15, 1851, at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia. With over 170 years of tradition, Alpha Delta Pi continues to uphold a legacy built on sisterhood, leadership, and personal growth. Our motto, We Live for Each Other, guides everything we do—from our philanthropic efforts to academic excellence and involvement across campus. For generations, our sisters have found not just community, but purpose, pride, and lifelong friendships within Alpha Delta Pi.
Alpha Iota at the University of Pittsburgh is proud to carry on that legacy in our own bold and vibrant way. What sets Pitt ADPi apart is the genuine love, loyalty, and support our sisters share. We’re a chapter filled with women who uplift each other, celebrate each other’s victories, and stand strong together through every challenge and season of life. From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll find a space that encourages growth, celebrates individuality, and helps you become the best version of yourself.
Sisterhood here isn’t just for four years—it’s for life. The friendships formed in our chapter extend far beyond graduation, growing into a network of women who continue to support one another through every chapter of life. Whether it’s bonding over late-night study sessions, cheering each other on at events, or giving back to our community through service, every experience within Alpha Delta Pi helps shape strong, compassionate, and driven women.
We can’t wait to continue this legacy and share the spirit of ADPi with future sisters here at Pitt. There’s a place for you in our chapter, and we’re so excited to welcome you home.
