As members of the fraternity/sorority community, Alpha Delta Pi is proud to welcome those who want to enhance their college experience as part of something bigger. We select and maintain membership on the basis of scholarship, leadership, commitment, and service to the work of the sorority, the university, and the community. Alpha Delta Pi actively encourages a membership which represents a diverse population and does not discriminate in membership selection procedures. Come home to Alpha Delta Pi and find women who are true and loyal, just like our blue and white colors represent. ADPi sisters are leaders and visionaries. We are SGA senators, artists, student athletes, and scholars. We are committed to sisterhood, values and ethics, high academic standards, and social responsibility. We committed to those when we established the first secret society for collegiate women in 1851 at the first university chartered to grant degrees to women. We are committed to them still today.

The blue and white we wear represents more than just tradition—it reflects the loyalty, strength, and unity that define who we are.

Since our founding in 1851 as the first secret society for college women, Alpha Delta Pi has remained devoted to empowering generations of women through leadership, sisterhood, and purpose. That legacy lives on today at Pitt. Our sisters serve in Student Government, lead campus organizations, shine in the classroom, and give back through meaningful service. We’re proud to be women of action—uplifting each other and making an impact at Pitt and beyond.

Here at Pitt, Panhellenic recruitment takes place each spring, and it’s one of our favorite times of the year. It’s when we get to open our doors and hearts to potential new members and share what makes our chapter so special. Formal recruitment is your opportunity to meet women who will challenge you, cheer you on, and stand by you through every moment of college life. We’re excited to welcome new faces into our home—women ready to lead, to grow, and to find their people.

Formal recruitment at Pitt consists of four different types of rounds: academic, philanthropy, sisterhood, and preference. Throughout each round we get closer and closer to potential new members (PNMs), and eventually invite in a new Alpha Class.
